Who is JesusWho is Jesus?

When this question is personalized, it becomes the most important question one will ever be asked or answer. Who is Jesus Christ? Jesus said, "I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly" (John 10:10). In 1 John 5:11-13 we are told that if we have the son in our life we can KNOW that we have eternal life. Jesus is the only way for us to live an abundant life here on earth, or receive eternal life in fellowship with God. Jesus died on the cross to take the punishment for our sins so that we could be sinless in the eyes of God. If we do not receive the free gift of eternal life by experiencing the forgiveness achieved by Jesus, then we will receive the punishment we so justly deserve. Jesus must become the Lord of our lives. Imagine your life as an automobile—Jesus must be behind the wheel of your life. The verses below show the attributes of Jesus, but if he has not forgiven your sins, been invited into your life (heart) and involved in a personal relationship with you, there is little purpose in reading on. You can change your life at this very moment. Admit your sin, repent of it before God. Believe in the atonement of Jesus on the cross and receive the gift of eternal life which Jesus died to freely give you. Invite Jesus into your life to live through you and thank him for doing so.

Jesus is the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.

Through faith in Jesus, our sin is forgotten by God, and we inherit the righteousness of Jesus. (Ephesians 2:8,Romans 3:22) We can stand before the throne of God and address him as our father. (Matthew 6:9, Luke 11:2) Jesus made this possible. (John 14:6)

I'm basically a good person. Do I still need Jesus?

Sin is to fall short of perfect justice. Sin can be intentional or unintentional. Consider the wrongs done to you, and the wrongs you have done to others, as sin. Even with the best intentions, we have sinned.

Jesus is provided as God's perfect sacrifice to achieve perfect justice. One sacrifice, for all sin, for all time. (John 1:29, Hebrews 10:12)

God's Gift Of Life is offered to all, regardless of the lives we've lived.

Our relationship with God is restored through faith in Jesus. By acknowledging that Jesus died for our sins, and was raised from the dead, we become God’s children.
(Romans 10:9)

Our good works do not make God love us more, and our sin does not make God love us less. God has shown his love, in that while we were sinners Christ died for us.
(Romans 5:8) If God did not withhold his son, while we were sinners, what would he keep from us as his children?

Don't get stressed, and feel unworthy when you mess up. We're all unworthy, and God loves us anyway. (Romans 3:23)

Our lives should produce good works as the evidence of changed lives, but they do not justify our place before God. (Matthew 5:16) It's all about Jesus.

God's Love

"For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive by the Spirit" (I Peter 3:18).

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16).

God Loves Sinners

"Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth." (Luke 15:10).

God does not hate sinners. His heart is for people. His desire is that we repent, turn to him and receive his wonderful Gift of Eternal Life.

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8).

Why is Jesus called "Christ"?

We receive God's gift of salvation by believing that Jesus of Nazareth is the Christ. The Christ (Messiah) is the Lamb of God. He is spoken of by Moses and the Prophets (John 5:46). Where lambs had been sacrificed for sins every year, the Lamb of God is the perfect offering. One sacrifice for all sin for all time. (Hebrews 10:12)

You can receive Christ right now by faith through prayer:

(Prayer is the key to talking to God)

God knows your heart and is not so concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of your heart. The following is a suggested prayer:

"Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life, my heart and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be."

Does this prayer express the desire of your heart? If it does, we invite you to pray this prayer right now and Christ will come into your life, as He promised.
